The Vacation Coutdown Begins

Tyler and I like love to travel. I honestly wish I had Samantha Brown's job. We love God's creation and have a desire to see as much of it as possible.

Two Saturdays ago, I was feeling a little bit under the weather and what better thing to do for travel junkies than to watch the Travel Channel all day. So, that is just what we did. While we watched, Tyler and I got to thinking our anniversary is coming up, where should we go or should we even go anywhere. So off to the computer we went, in search for cheap travel locations in the U.S. (I did not have my passport renewed with in one year of marriage so, I would have to pay again). We searched Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, and St. Louis.

New Orleans- Mardis Gras is two days prior to our planned arrival and we would be there during St. Patty's Day. Ummm... No thanks we are not boozers.
Atlanta- I would have LOVED to have gone to the largest aquarium in the U.S. but there was not much else to fill our time. We are more of Disney lovers than Six Flags.
St. Louis- TOO cold in March
Miami- The mere mention of Spring Break and prices SKY ROCKET!

So we're back at square one. Tyler begins looking at cruises. I am overly frustrated by this point so, back to the living room I go for more of the Travel Channel and day dreaming of being in places like Bora Bora or Hawaii. In the midst of my frustration, Tyler calls me back to the computer and shows me prices for cruises well under what we would pay for a vacation in any of the previously listed locations.  Also, since Tyler is past cruiser even more discounts would apply! Two days later after asking my boss for PTO (paid time off) days we booked our 1st cruise as a couple!

6 weeks and 2 days remaining!

New Backgrounds

Well, as some of you know Shabby Blogs changed their codes to keep their backgrounds FREE (which I am VERY thankful for). However, I do not know if I like these new backgrounds. I do not cope with change very well. Thoughts?

Happy Birthday, Tyler

Today is my wonderful husband's birthday! He is now 24 years old and not very excited about it. He gets depressed when I remind him he is getting older. I still remember the exact moment I layed eyes on him. I remember thinking, "Ugh, he thinks he is so cool. I can't stand people like that!" Well, what do you know my thoughts changed, completely. And I could not be more happy they did!
Happy Birthday, my love! I am so glad God saw fit to bring you into this world 24 years ago!

First Wedding Anniversary = Disney Vacation

We had a BLAST at Disney World!!! I hated to come back, of course. We have so many memories and over 1,000 pictures. I can't wait to go back!
March 14, 2010, we celebrated our first anniversary in style with breakfast with Minnie, Goofy, Donald at Cape May Cafe. Tyler had them sing "Happy Anniversary" to us, as well as a card from the characters, and a cupcake. Yes, we had a cupcake with breakfast. Hey it was our anniversary. They only come around once a year! After that we enjoyed the morning at Epcot and the evening at Magic Kingdom. There is nothing more romantic than the fireworks over Cinderella's castle on your anniversary! Oh, we wore ADORABLE "Happy Anniversary" pins all week! People in parades would stop dancing and tell us "Happy Anniversary!" Disney World truly is the most magical place on earth! We had our anniversary dinner at Emeril's (not the best food we had while in Orlando).

The next morning, we had planned on taking the bus from our room to Magic Kingdom. Well, we ran out, jumped on the bus, but our watch was apparently not on the same schedule as the drivers, and so instead of Magic Kingdom, we went straight to Animal Kingdom. Oh well, we had a blast there especially since we are animal lovers. I loved the safari ride and Everest was the BOMB! We were thankfully back to the bus stop 15 minutes early that evening. The bus left 5 minutes before the itinerary stated and that was the only bus out that day! I would have been ticked off if had we been stranded with a $30 taxi. That ended our bus rides. We decided to pay for parking. Especially since you can come and go as you wish.

We tackled MGM, as it will always be known as to Tyler and myself. The Tower of Terror scared me to death! I actually screamed, "I WILL NEVER GET ON ANOTHER ELEVATOR AGAIN!" I hated it and NO I did not ride it again although, I would! We were not able to do the American Idol set there. There simply were not enough hours in the day! Oh my goodness, the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster was AMAZING!

The rest of the week we flipped between Epcot and Magic Kingdom our favorite parks and GREAT restaurants we loved our dinner at Fulton's Crab House. Our waiter, Tommy, was very kind and found out we were celebrating our anniversary week with them and brought us this fabulous dessert! YUMMY!

I, of course, spent most of the day Friday depressed because it was our last day. I generally do not enjoy my last day of vacation because I know reality is just around the corner. Although, Disney made me forget about reality even our last day at the parks. We stayed at Magic Kingdom until after 1 Friday night. I cannot describe how terrible I felt getting up the next morning to drive back to Mississippi.

We truly had a wonderful trip and a VERY magical anniversary. I cannot wait to return. Tyler is adamant about a cruise next year, but I want to go back to Disney World. Maybe we can compromise on a Disney Cruise ;) I am very thankful for a husband that loves to travel as much as myself.

Feels Like Spring Time (not really)

Well, it is almost that time again. SPRING CLEANING TIME!!! I love this time of the year. Orgainzing everything and starting new. I guess it began with the blog this year. Notice the new layout? I am ready for the spring flowers to bloom, trees to regain their leaves, grass to turn green, and sun to be shinning when I wake up. However, I am not ready for the runny noses, watery eyes, and sneezing. Oh the joys that spring brings! One more thing I am ready for Spring Break. Tyler and I will be in Disney World celebrating our first wedding anniversary! We are so excited. Only 7 more days before we head out!

Nerds??? I think not!

At lunch this afternoon Tyler and I had a conversation something like this:

Me: "You know we have a blog? So we are cool people now!"

Tyler: "That doesn't make you cool, it makes you a nerd."

Me: "Well then, we are just nerds." Sticking my tounge out in a childish way.

Over the last year

I was texting one of my dear friends today and told her she needs to start a blog now that she is about to start a "real family" as I refer to about to have a child. Suddenly, I realized yes I have set up a blog account, but I have never posted. Blasphamy at it's finest I suppose.

My life has drasticly changed over the course of the last year. I married my very best friend March 14, 2009. We had a beautiful wedding if I may say so my self. I stressed and stressed over it though. Everything turned out fabulous. "My second father," as I refer to him, Bro. David came to officate the wedding. That was very special to me.

We honeymooned in the Bahamas it was amazing. The people were extremely friendly. We had a blast at the straw market downtown and sailing to Paradise Island. I wish we could have stayed forever, but reality hits and we had to come back to Mississippi.

We moved from the greatest place on earth (Oxford, MS) to Cleveland for Tyler to finsish his aviation degree at Delta State University. Tyler began the rest of his degree in January of this year. He loves school this go around. I pray his enthusiasm lasts until he finishes. Since we have moved to Cleveland we have accepted two sweet puppies into our family, a black lab, Colby, and a Shih Tzu, Abby. They are our lives. We absolutely adore them.
Tyler should finish his degree about this time next year, then we are off to Lord only knows where for me to finish mine. I don't even know what it is going to be at this point. I am praying about it daily and doing as much research as I can to come to my final decision and hopefully, it will come soon!

Now everyone is updated. Hopefully, I will not fall this far behind again. Much love to all!
