Not Much on Valentines Day

Well, I guess I am not the "typical" woman. I am really not much on Valentines Day. I believe that Valentines Day is another day for Hallmark and others to make more money off of stereotypical Hollywood romance. Real romance is found in everyday life. So, yesterday I was surprised when my hubby bought me this beautiful flower (I specifically told him no roses. After our wedding, I realised how much they are marked up on Valentines and Mothers Day any other time roses are welcome!!!).

We exchanged cards (Yes, I fell into the trap) and we had a wonderful dinner at The Warehouse in Cleveland. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures :(
I hope everyone else had a great day as well.

Whatever it takes

Tyler is not a big vegetable eater and HATES carrots. This is the only way his mom and I can get him to eat them. I must say it is quite delish!!! Sorry, this picture does not do the dish justice. Another reason to dislike BlackBerries!

Their "Storybook Wedding"

Thirty-seven years ago today at Clarksdale Baptist Church, my parents exchanged vows. My dad loves to tell the story of twisting every button off of his coat due to nerves. My mom tells that her veil got stuck in a floor vent while walking down the isle to meet her love at the alter. And their photographer was a no-show. Although they thankfully had family there with their cameras. The day was not the perfect Hollywood/Disney "storybook wedding" where everything goes exactly as planned, but it was their "storybook wedding."

They are the best parents in the world (maybe not officially, but in my world). They taught me how to love and how to be loved by my spouse. They taught me how to show compassion when my spouse is hurting. They taught me how to be a caregiver when my spouse is sick. They truly kept to their vows and for that I am much appreciative! Thank you for showing me the love of Christ through your love for one another and in your marriage!

Happy Anniversary, Momma and Daddy!

Dress shopping is not for me

Does anyone else have the same fear of dress shopping as myself? I absolutely HATE it! I never like the way the dresses look, their color, or they just don't fit me quite right. There is always an excuse. Bottom line, I think it is my lack of desire to spend money. I will buy thing for Tyler all day long, but when it comes to myself, I simply don't need anything.
Today, that changed I have been looking for dresses for our cruise and other events we have this spring, summer, and even this fall (yes, it takes me at least 6 months to decide what to wear). So I found and purchased this:

Correction

Last night, Tyler informed me I had posted the wrong date we are to leave on our cruise. As sad as it made me I realized that it was true. We have 38 days remaining!!!

The Vacation Coutdown Begins

Tyler and I like love to travel. I honestly wish I had Samantha Brown's job. We love God's creation and have a desire to see as much of it as possible.

Two Saturdays ago, I was feeling a little bit under the weather and what better thing to do for travel junkies than to watch the Travel Channel all day. So, that is just what we did. While we watched, Tyler and I got to thinking our anniversary is coming up, where should we go or should we even go anywhere. So off to the computer we went, in search for cheap travel locations in the U.S. (I did not have my passport renewed with in one year of marriage so, I would have to pay again). We searched Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans, and St. Louis.

New Orleans- Mardis Gras is two days prior to our planned arrival and we would be there during St. Patty's Day. Ummm... No thanks we are not boozers.
Atlanta- I would have LOVED to have gone to the largest aquarium in the U.S. but there was not much else to fill our time. We are more of Disney lovers than Six Flags.
St. Louis- TOO cold in March
Miami- The mere mention of Spring Break and prices SKY ROCKET!

So we're back at square one. Tyler begins looking at cruises. I am overly frustrated by this point so, back to the living room I go for more of the Travel Channel and day dreaming of being in places like Bora Bora or Hawaii. In the midst of my frustration, Tyler calls me back to the computer and shows me prices for cruises well under what we would pay for a vacation in any of the previously listed locations.  Also, since Tyler is past cruiser even more discounts would apply! Two days later after asking my boss for PTO (paid time off) days we booked our 1st cruise as a couple!

6 weeks and 2 days remaining!

New Backgrounds

Well, as some of you know Shabby Blogs changed their codes to keep their backgrounds FREE (which I am VERY thankful for). However, I do not know if I like these new backgrounds. I do not cope with change very well. Thoughts?
